We have been providing our services to the solar companies across Australia to lodge the grid connection application and get an approval from DNSP across Australia such as Ausgrid, Endeavor Energy, Essential Energy, Jemena, Ausnet, Powercor, United Energy, SAPN, Energex & Ergon. In addition to grid connection approval, as a consultant we also provide the complete engineering solutions from site inspection to design to testing & commissioning. For every system over 30kVA, we carry out an injection testing of the central protection relay on site by using OMICRON CMC and Ponovo Universal Test System. Secondary injection test is required to ensure the relay trips as per settings programmed for under-voltage, over-voltage, under-frequency, over- frequency, ROCOF, vector shift as per the DNSP requirement. The central protection relay isolates the IES from the network in case of abnormal / faulty conditions. For system over 30KVA IES, in some cases, DNSPs also require the power quality test to confirm the network power quality is not deteriorated due to the installation and operation of the solar system. The PQ parameters such as harmonics, flicker, and voltage unbalance are measured before solar and after solar during power quality test. We use the Class A compliant Fluke Power Quality and Energy Analyser.

The founder of Edison Engineering -Shree Maharjan has over 20 years of experience in the Solar PV sector as a technical expert. His experience included design, testing & commissioning including secondary injection testing of protection relay, certification, monitoring & field testing and with the development of technical standards & test methods for Solar PV System components. He has acquired training on design, testing and measurement of solar PV in Denmark, Austria, Australia, Bangladesh, India and Nepal.
